Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter in reference to the interview which I passed recently. My name is John and I have recently cleared a job interview for the position of a Software developer at the Software Infrastructure Group Corporation Office, New Delhi. I was expected to join the office on December 10th as agreed, unfortunately I will be unable to join on that date.

During the interview, I estimated that 15 days time will be sufficient to complete the project on which I’m working as a team leader in the present company and will be able to join your company on the fixed date. I was very keen and enthusiastic about my joining but regrettably, last week I met with a minor accident and nearly a entire week I was unable to work. As a part of my duty, I don’t want to leave my project incomplete for my current company, I can give a letter from my doctor informing that I had stayed home for a week under medical care.

I really apologize for the inconvenience and expect not to affect my image and relationship with the new company. I’m ready to produce other evidences if required or to talk to senior staff to specify my limitations.
